Chapter 92 Encountered a Madman
When Abigail woke up, she felt a heavy weight on her. Startled, she turned to see
that Eloise’s leg was draped across her. She let out a sigh of relief, feeling grateful it wasn’t Stephen’s weight she felt.
She shook her head, puzzled why she would think about that jerk..
She carefully moved Eloise’s leg, got up, and went to wash up. After preparing a simple breakfast, she called Eloise to wake up.
Eloise groggily sat up and stared at her for a moment before asking, “Do you remember what happened last night?”
Abigail was taken aback. “What happened last night?”
Yawning, Eloise got out of bed and filled her in on the events from the previous evening.
“Ryan?”
Abigail paused. She was unfamiliar with the name.
Eloise said, “He was probably just a good Samaritan who happened to be in the right place at the right time. If you see him again, be sure to thank him.”
“Yeah, you’re right,” Abigail agreed with a nod.
After breakfast, the two headed out and ran into Ryan right at the neighborhood gate.
“Mr. Silas?”
Eloise spotted Ryan and called out to him. Ryan looked over, his gaze fixed intently on Abigail.
Eloise flashed a knowing smile. “My dear Abbie, this is the good Samaritan I told you about.”
Abigail gave her a nudge and then approached Ryan. “I heard about what happened last night. Thank you.”
Ryan replied, “No need to thank me. It’s what I should have done.”
Abigail smiled. “It’s not just about what you should or shouldn’t do. Even if you stepped in, it would’ve made sense since you’re a stranger. So, thank you.

Abigail’s smile faltered a bit. “Uh, alright then. Thanks. Let me treat you to lunch. Are you free today?”
Ryan declined immediately. “No need. I made a mistake before. I’m sorry. Please. forgive me.” He then bowed deeply.
Abigail was startled. She took a step back and hid behind Eloise.
Eloise was confused. “Uh, do you know Abbie?”
Abigail and Eloise exchanged a glance.
Abigail said, “But I don’t know you.”
Ryan replied, “I’m Ryan Silas.”
Abigail was baffled and wondered if she had actually encountered a madman. She decided it was best to leave quickly. “Uh, I have to get to work. See you later!”
Having previously experienced being stalked and harmed by a mysterious man, Abigail was cautious around strangers. Seeing Ryan’s odd behavior, she wasn’t inclined to engage further. With that, she pulled Eloise away.
As Ryan watched them walk away, he felt confused. He wondered if his apology hadn’t come across as genuine.
Just as Abigail entered Deluxion Corporation, her phone rang. She answered, “Hello?”
“Ms. Lloyd, please come to the CEO’s office, Jamie said.
“I’m busy,” Abigail replied curtly before hanging up.
Jamie stared at the phone, glancing nervously at Stephen. The call was on speaker, so Stephen had clearly heard Abigail’s cold response. Stephen was visibly frustrated. He abruptly stood up and walked out.
Jamie followed Stephen, marveling at Abigail’s audacity. Despite her check being frozen, she still had the nerve to defy Stephen.
