Chapter 128 To Me, She’s Nothing
“So what?” Stephen leaned back, his demeanor axuding an aloofnese and nobility. His handsome face remained cale and detached,
making it hard for anyone to read his emotions.
Abigail held Eloise’s hand, saying, “It’s okay, it’s okay…” She seemed to be comforting both Eloise and herself.
Abigail turned to look at Stephen. “If you have any grievances, take them out on me. Don’t make things difficult for Eloise.” After saying that, she turned and pulled Eloise to leave,
Stephen coldly watched as she left, his eyes gradually darkening with a dark complexity. Even after they left, the suffocating oppressive atmosphere lingered in the private room.
Justin clicked his tongue twice before commenting, “Aren’t you just, being difficult?”
Stephen looked at him. “You think so?”
With a smirk on his face, Justin replied. “You think I didn’t notice? From the moment she walked in here, your eyes have never left her. All you wanted was for her to say something nice. But she’s just as stubborn, willing to let herself suffer rather than speak up.
“You two are just as stubborn as each other. I’m curious to see who will out–stubborn whom in the end.”
Stephen responded coldly, “You’re overthinking it. To me, she’s nothing.”
Glancing up at him, Justin suddenly asked, “Do you really like
Candace?”
However, Stephen didn’t answer. He picked up a bottle, poured. himself a drink, and downed it in one go.
Ryan walked over, hesitantly looking at the bite mark on his hand. ” Mr. Lockhart, should I get a rabies shot?”
Stephen snapped, “Get lost!”
Ryan immediately fell silent.
Outside the bar, the cold wind blew against Abigail. Feeling a wave of nausea, she quickly ran to a trash can before vomiting violently.
Eloise stayed by her side, patting her back. Her eyes were full of concern. “Abbie, why did you drink so much? He was just looking for an excuse to pick on us. For Candace’s sake, he’s capable of anything.
Abigail vomited until her stomach was empty and finally felt a bit better. “Can you get me a bottle of water?”
“Sure.” Eloise immediately went to a nearby convenience store to buy
water.
Abigail sat on a bench by the roadside, letting the cold wind blow over her. She tried not to think about all the upsetting events.
Tonight’s incident hadn’t been resolved. Even though Stephen let them go, it wasn’t over. He might still trouble Eloise.
Eloise quickly returned and handed Abigail the opened bottle. “Abbie,
here.”
Abigail took a sip, then looked at her. “Eloise, you should leave. Go. out of Tilendo City. If he can’t find you, he won’t be able to target you.”
A sad look crossed Eloise’s features. “But if I leave, what about you?”
Abigail smiled faintly. “I’m all alone. What do I have to fear?”
Eloise hugged her, saying, “I can’t leave. At worst, I’ll just avoid him
THE
from now on. I can’t leave you alone. If I had known what kind of person he was, I wouldn’t have gone abroad.”
After being abroad for three months, she returned to find Abigail completely changed. And all of this was because of that scumbag, Stephen.
Abigail chuckled. “Can you really hold yourself back?”
Eloise nodded firmly. “I can. I’ll definitely hold myself back. I’ll just curse him after he leaves.”
Abigail was amused but didn’t press further.
“Abigail, Eloise,” Hugh called out at this moment.
The two women looked up to see him approaching with his jacket slung over his shoulder. “Why are you here?” he asked, puzzled.
