Chapter 149 Looked Better This Way
Abigail shuddered and instinctively tried to push Stephen away, but he grabbed her wrist, pulled her hand down, and kissed her lips.
Abigail struggled against him.
Stephen’s kiss was urgent and fierce. He didn’t stop until her
lips turned red. Only then did he seem satisfied.
He thought she looked better this way.
Abigail shoved him away. “Stephen, don’t you find this awkward?”
Stephen stared at her angry expression with dark and intense eyes. “What’s the rush? The month is not over yet.”
Freezing, Abigail glared at him. “So, you’re saying you’ll divorce, me next month?”
Stephen raised an eyebrow. Without responding to her
question, he turned around and walked away.
“Bastard!” Watching his retreating figure, Abigail cursed under
her breath.
She knew he was just toying with her again. She didn’t understand why it was so hard to get a divorce.
Just then, Eloise came out. Noticing Abigail’s sour expression, she asked, “What happened?”
Abigail answered, “Did you get everything sorted?”

Eloise nodded. “Yes, he agreed, but he didn’t seem too happy
about it.”
Abigail scoffed. “Of course, he’s not happy. His plan didn’t work out.”
Eloise pursed her lips. “Men are all the same.”
After leaving the hospital, they were about to hail a cab.
Suddenly, a woman stormed over and raised her hand to slap Abigail. Abigail quickly dodged and frowned at her. “Are you crazy?”
Stacy glared at her. “You wench! How dare you come to the hospital? Are you here to pester Stephen? Don’t you know he belongs to Caddy? Caddy is dying, and you’re keeping Stephen all for yourself. How can you be so cruel?”
Eloise stepped in front of Abigail and sneered, “What does Candace dying have to do with us? Don’t you want Abigail to approach Stephen so that they can get a divorce sooner?
“Once they get a divorce, you can do whatever you want. Even if you want us to help bury you after you die, we’d readily agree and might even give you a discount for our service.”
“You…”
Stacy’s chest heaved with anger.
She glared menacingly at Abigail. “Don’t think I don’t know your game. You’re just after the Lockharts‘ wealth and power.
You’re just pretending to be all high and mighty to keep Stephen from divorcing you.
“I’ve seen many people like you. Let me tell you, the Lockharts will never accept you. Caddy is their only daughter–in–law!”
Since she couldn’t physically harm Abigail, Stacy decided to make her suffer emotionally.
Just because Abigail refused to divorce didn’t mean everything would be fine.
Abigail stared back at her indifferently and asked, “Which ward is Candace in?”
Stacy’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Why do you want to know?”
Abigail replied, “Since she got depression because of Stephen, as his wife, I should pay her a visit. Oh, maybe I should get her some supplements too. It would be rude to go empty–handed.”
“You wench. You-‘
Stacy pointed at Abigail and began cursing, but before she could finish her sentence, she was slapped hard.
Abigail looked at her with disdain. “If she wants to be with Stephen so badly, she should hurry up and convince him to divorce me instead of sending you to insult me. Who do you think you are to lecture me?”
Abigail had endured enough of Stacy’s insults, both over the phone and now in person. It was time to stand up for herself.
