Chapter 150 A Good Impression
Abigail turned around indifferently before walking away.
Eloise quickly caught up with her and gave her a thumbs–up. Abbie, you’ve finally stood up for yourself!”
Abigail said, “I don’t bother people who don’t bother me.”
She wasn’t going to be polite with someone like Stacy, who had deliberately provoked her time and again.
Clicking her tongue, Eloise said, “I don’t get what that jerk is thinking. If he loves Candace so much, why doesn’t he just divorce you? Now, Candace has depression, and you’re suffering too. What is he trying to do?”
Abigail responded, “I wish I knew what’s on his mind.”
Then, she wouldn’t have to suffer so much. She found the
constant entanglement pointless.
Eloise held her arm and said with a smile, “Abbie, come stay with me tonight. I’ll start to get busy tomorrow.”
Abigail nodded and agreed immediately.
Eloise was thrilled. They headed to her cozy one–bedroom apartment. It was just nice for a person.
They even bought some snacks on their way back. They spent the night watching shows while drinking and snacking. It was a brief escape from their troubles.
Late into the night, Abigail was sleeping soundly. Suddenly, her

phone rang, Eloise, who had heard it first, nudged her awake.
Abigail squinted at her phone and saw that it was Stephen calling.
She wondered what this jerk wanted in the middle of the night. She didn’t bother answering and declined the call directly.
Meanwhile, at Maplewood Residence, Stephen stared at the empty house. Abigail wasn’t here, and he couldn’t reach her. His expression darkened.
He wondered where she had gone.
He then dialed Ryan’s number and said in a low voice, “Find out where Abigail is.”
Ryan hesitated before answering, “Mr. Lockhart, it’s already 1:
00 am.”
“So?” Stephen responded coldly, leaving Ryan speechless.
Left with no choice, Ryan reluctantly got up to trace Abigail’s whereabouts. Ten minutes later, he sent Abigail’s location to Stephen.
Stephen’s eyes narrowed even further when he saw that Abigail was at Eloise’s place. He immediately called Justin.
“Hello?”
Justin’s groggy voice came through the line.
Stephen said, “Tomorrow night, make sure Eloise stays at your place.”

Justin asked, “Are you out of your mind?”
Stephen’s tone turned colder. “If you don’t do this for me, I’lR make sure you can’t leave the hospital for at least six months.”
Justin responded, “Fine, fine. I get it.”
With that, he hung up the phone.
Stephen tugged at his tie. The house was still filled with Abigail’s lingering scent. Sinking into the couch and leaning against it, he closed his eyes. His mind was flooded with thoughts of her.
He wasn’t sure when Abigail started having such a big impact
on him.
Stephen didn’t want to delve too deeply, but this growing influence made him wary.
The next morning, Abigail made breakfast. She ate with Eloise
before heading out together.
As they walked out of the neighborhood, they spotted a luxury car parked nearby. Abigail’s expression stiffened, and she deliberately avoided looking at the car as she walked past it.
The person in the car honked aggressively, and the blaring noise drew annoyed glances from passersby.
Abigail sneered, “Let’s get out of here quickly before we get caught up with immoral people.”

The window was open, so Stephen heard her words clearly. His already stern face now looked like it had dark clouds
hovering above it.
He wondered if Abigail had ever had a good impression of him.
