Chapter 164 He Signed the Divorce Agreement
“Why are you suddenly interested in the Lockharts‘ situation?” The person on the other line was surprised and couldn’t help asking.
Hugh replied casually, “My father wants me to produce some solid results, and I’ve been planning something along those lines lately.”
The other person was even more astonished. “Hugh, are you considering going back to the Style family? I thought your
weren’t interested in that stuff.”
Hugh said, “Well, now I am interested. Is that a problem?”
“No, not at all! I’ll find out what’s going on with the Lockharts right away. Just give me some time!”
The call ended.
A glint of curiosity flashed in Hugh’s eyes. He wondered what exactly had happened.
He recalled Abigail’s pale face and tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
Abigail waited for two days, but the test results still hadn’t come in. That morning, she went to work as usual, only to find Jamie waiting by the door.
Puzzled, she asked, “What brings you here?”

Jamie offered a professional smile as he handed her a document. “This is a divorce agreement. Mr. Lockhart has already signed it. If you sign it as well, the agreement will take effect immediately, and your marriage to Mr. Lockhart will be dissolved.”
Abigail’s expression froze. She tightened her grip around the door handle until her knuckles turned white. The divorce papers she had longed for were finally here.
Yet, she couldn’t quite figure out her feelings.
She scoffed. “Stephen, you really are ruthless.”
He wronged her and now wanted to abandon her and shift all
the blame to her.
What a joke!
“Let me see it.” Abigail extended her hand.
Jamie handed her the agreement, thinking that once she signed it, his task would be complete.
Abigail skimmed through it carefully. But suddenly, she ripped the document to shreds!
Jamie was stunned. “Ms. Lloyd, what are you doing? Didn’t you want to divorce?”
Her dreams were about to come true. Jamie didn’t understand why she tore the agreement apart.
A cold gaze crossed Abigail’s beautiful eyes. “I agree to a divorce, but not right now. I didn’t poison him, and I need to clear my name first. He has to apologize to me once I do that.
Otherwise, I won’t be signing this divorce agreement!”
She wouldn’t allow Stephen to shift all the blame to her and abandon her just like this!
Abigail tossed the shredded papers into the trash can, shut the door, and headed to work.
Jamie was left stunned.
Things had gone beyond what he had imagined.
At the hospital, Stephen’s strikingly handsome face turned gloomy when he heard Jamie’s report.
Justin said, “She’s a stubborn one. Given how you spoke to her, it’s no surprise she’s refusing to sign the divorce agreement.”
Stephen said faintly, “Keep sending it to her until she signs it.”
Jamie responded, “Understood, Mr. Lockhart.”
Justin couldn’t help but chuckle. “She wanted a divorce before,
and you refused. Now that you want it, she won’t agree. It’s like
you two are playing a game.”
Stephen’s attention shifted back to his laptop as he resumed
working.
Ignoring Justin’s comment, he asked, “How’s the investigation going?”
Justin’s expression grew serious. “The other party has been very careful. We haven’t found anything suspicious yet. Stephen, are you sure you’re on the right track?”

Stephen said coldly, “He’s willing to go to any lengths to
achieve his goal. It could be that we haven’t found anything yet or he’s hidden his tracks too well.”
Justin took a bite of his apple and said, “Well, considering he has used all means to take you down, you really must have
some luck on your side.”
